Melanie Howard
Education: Melanie has her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the City University of Seattle. She is currently working towards her CPA license.
Role At The Port: Melanie is the Finance & HR Director for the Port of Astoria. She handles the annual budget and financial audit process and is responsible for maintaining the accounting procedures and preparing the monthly financial reports, among other duties.
Work History: Melanie started working at the Port in early 2020. She has a background in tax preparation and accounting, as well as property management, operations management, bookkeeping, and payroll.
Family: Melanie lives in Astoria with her husband and their two young children, William and Lucy.
Hobbies: Melanie has always enjoyed hiking and camping and loves taking her children on outdoor adventures. They try to take advantage of everything Astoria has to offer, including trips to the park, library, and swimming pool. Melanie and her husband also enjoy hosting game nights and spending time with friends.
